Pete Luitwieler graduated from Dartmouth College and Tuck School of Business. He served in the US Army from 1966 to 1969, including service in Vietnam 1967-68. He was awarded CIB and Bronze Medal of Valor from the South Vietnamese Government. He was a Military Intelligence officer involved with Phoenix Program.
Pete worked for Gulf Oil from 1965 to 1984 (with 3 year military stint). During those 20 years he was stationed in Pittsburgh, New York City, London, Miami, and Houston. In his final 6 years he was Senior VP of Supply and Logistics in Houston. He worked for CITGO Petroleum from 1985 to 2000. Located in Tulsa, he was the VP of Supply and Logistics, and the last four years was CIO and led the SAP Implementation Project. Pete has also done various consulting projects in the international energy arena.
Over the past few years, Pete’s life has become somewhat Veteran-centric. In addition to the Coffee Bunker Advisory Board, Pete volunteers as a Mentor at Tulsa Veterans Treatment Court and serves on the board of Partners for Heroes. He also works part-time with CSC’s Warrior Partnerships of Eastern Oklahoma, helping veterans get connected and helping to identify services for vets and gaps that may exist in the service network.
In addition to his passion for helping veterans, Pete enjoys his retirement, spending time with his wife Jane, and their five children and 10 grandchildren. He enjoys reading, exercise, golf, travel, and relaxing. He’s actively involved with World Outreach Church.
